The name Rydervale Stables recalls LamoilleCounty’s equestrian heyday that revolved around the facility, then called Ryder Brook Farm. Located on Rt. 100 in Morrisville, just over a mile from Stowe, the property has always been convenient to a greater community devoted to outdor recreation. Settled on sixteen acres in full view of the WorcesterRange, it has long been the equine hub of LamoilleCounty and the only public equestrian facility with an indoor arena in the area. Under new ownership, the facility began renovations in the Summer of 2005 to better serve our boarders and riders and help rejuvenate celebrate and unify equine enthusiasm in Lamoille County.
Michelle began working within the horse community over two decades ago. Taught at a tender age the values of responsibility and accountability, she performed barn duties of increasing responsibility in exchange for lessons and later the substantial expenses of competition. The quests to advance and improve herself yielded the opportunity to experience and learn many aspects of the horse industry. Some of these accomplishments include several years teaching experience at one of the east coast’s premiere lesson facilities, interning for the veterinary clinic that serves the United States Equestrian Team; working part time with a farrier; gaining a certificate in equine sports massage therapy; and competing internationally on the A circuit - the highest level of competition in equine show jumping. Over the course of her hands-on education, Michelle learned everything from the finer points of horse care (including body clipping and braiding for some of the top show barns in the country), to barn and equine management, making decisions affecting not only horse and rider, but the business operation and barn community as a whole. Throughout the years, Michelle has retained the intensity required to continue to explore and grow as an equine professional. Her reputation reflects the compassion and sensitivity with which she interacts with her equine friends and companions. With an emphasis on safety and quality educational lessons, she is trusted by her students and coworkers to exercise patience, thoughtfulness, and respect.
